is it a disgrace to have nervous problems

i have nervous problems but at the same time i'm a proud person and feel ashamed that i'm afflicted with such a problem...it makes me feel like i'm being weak...and i feel ashamed about it in a way.

how can i be confident in public and not be nervous anymore?
