I am a rider on a carousel that turns at fifteen degrees per hour

What kind of experiment? Did teacher put you on a carousel and spin you around? A fact is something that is true. How does a spinning carousel convince you to equate it with the ground you are standing on is spinning? Are you obedient and swallowed the fact to pass the test?
I learned the fact in school, yes, and saw numerous experiments performed that support it

Pendulums, for one. Also fancy laser gyroscopes. Hurricanes and typhoons.
But equating earth’s rotation to a merry-go-round is a bit of an misleading oversimplification. One rotates, while the other spins much, much faster.
What experiments have you done that show that the earth doesn’t rotate? @sree251

What have hurricanes and typhoons got to do with a spinning Earth? What is causing the spinning?
The merry-go-round spins because it is drive by a motor. What is causing the Earth to spin?
What experiments do I need to set up to prove nothing is spinning? Duh.

Coriolis forces. Look them up. It’s why storms turn opposite directions in the northern and southern hemispheres
The planet rotates partly because of motion within the core, gravity, and torque generated by the planet’s orbit around the sun, among other things.
This is all stuff that you can find in a science textbook.
I’ve done experiments that satisfy the burden of proof that the planet rotates. I have yet to see one that proves otherwise.

I did. Things are the way they are. The sun moving across the sky is also an effect of the Earth's rotation if you want to see it that way. There are many effects in nature. Even falling from the roof is an effect. We can cook up all kinds of explanations the way witch doctors do.
The science textbook is a book of knowledge, stuff that we cooked up to explain natural phenomena.
You don't think that Newton had done experiments to prove that bodies have mass and attract each other? New theories of atomic and quantum physics have come up with different stories.
Look, if you want to stick to your science textbook, that's fine. This is a philosophy thread. It is meant for challenging accepted concepts of reality. Bookworms can't do this.
