I worked with a guy who believed the reason for all the violence and misogyny in the world was a result of the warlike martians coming to earth, interbreeding with the then peaceful humans and making the human race more evil.
Also other aliens seeded life on both earth and mars which is why we were able to breed.
Obviously it would be crazy otherwise...
