Hmm, if I recall the best way to make a battery last longer is to drain it down almost all the way every charge.

I have been doing that a lot lately. I plug in the charger when it gives me the low battery (10%) warning, then unplug as soon as I see it's done.

@hiddenkitty: Perhaps take the battery out when charged and save it for when actually using the laptop unplugged.

I'm sorry, I'm starting to feel tired and I don't understand your reply. Do you mean take the battery out of the laptop when my laptop is off?
Teirdalin · 31-35
@hiddenkitty: I mean't when it's fully charged and just sitting there with the charger cable in being used like a normal PC.

Try rewording it one more time, otherwise I'll have to re-read this tomorrow
hiddenkitty · 26-30, F
I feel like you are describing what I've already been doing
Teirdalin · 31-35
@hiddenkitty: Apples, spaghetti, pasta, ramen, turnips.

'mkay

@hiddenkitty: Well I'm incredibly tired now that you mention it. Ever play D&D?
hiddenkitty · 26-30, F
No I haven't played it. I think someone described it to me one time. Anyway, I just checked batteries online, and a new battery on Amazon is $20, so I'll probably order one tomorrow

@hiddenkitty: Make sure it's the right brand or it won't fit.
hiddenkitty · 26-30, F
Yeah, It's the same brand, and I typed in the model of my laptop as well, and I see batteries sold that say they're compatible with my laptop. It's a Dell Inspiron, super common so I was able to find one pretty easily, even when mentioning the type of Inspiron
