Is there such a thing as an adapter for Mac External hard drives to PCs?

I used to have a MacBook Pro. I had to buy a special external hard drive specifically for Macs to transfer files and projects over to. My Mac broke and I ended up buying s PC because that was what I could afford at the time. But now, my files and projects are stuck on my eternal hard drives because I can't open them to work off them on my PC. I do not want to buy another Mac just to get these things off. Does anyone know of a solution? Is there an adaptor I may be able to get or something to avoid buying another computer? Thanks in advance.

No, because the word is "adaptor".
@Crazychick Both spellings are in the dictionary; “er” is probably more common in the U.S.

@bijouxbroussard I wouldn't know, I haven't been to the US. I once asked my dad how to spell that word and he told me it's "or" so I've stuck with that. It doesn't look right with "er" anyway.
@Crazychick But that’s the thing about “correcting” someone’s spelling when they haven’t actually misspelled the word.

@bijouxbroussard I don't know why it's so necessary to have alternative spellings anyway. It doesn't do any good, it only complicates things.
@Crazychick It’s not that complicated once one understands that it’s a fact of life and very unlikely to change.

@Crazychick I don't know what you're complaining about, she used both spellings to keep everyone happy.

@goldenorchid I just read the main question. I seldom bother with the stories underneath. Lol :)

@Crazychick Oh I'm so sorry I spelled a word wrong when I asked a question 😲😜😂

@sweetiepoo Apparently it wasn't wrong, it was a regional variation that I wasn't previously told about.

@Crazychick It's cool. No biggie. 😃
