Why is the USA behind other countries for high speed trains, health care, and education?

It's become a third world country.

To be fair, the trains part may have to do with the nation's low population density.

@BlueVeins In Japan, the population is concentrated in a small number of very large metropolitan areas. I've been on bullet trains there, where you go for very long stretches, in between population centers, where all you see is rice paddies.
