Have you ever paid a website ?

I wonder if you have ever paid a website or an online service or subscription. If so what website was it or what was it about ?

I pay for SW, and I pay/paid for a lot of online services. If I use it, and it's worth my time, then it's only fair to pay for it.

@Northwest Definitely its about the time. but still many ppl hesitate to pay for something. Maybe its something psycological. when they pay for something they wanna get something in real life :)

@navigatorTR Unless they're online, in some alternate life, they ARE online in real life.

I once paid for a membership at a chess site. I wanted to support them because it was owned by a fellow countryman.

@Wraithorn its very nice. i think people who do something for the society should be appraised somehow. even a few bucs can work in some cases

I paid both AOL and MS.com in the earlier days.

Also, we own and manage a couple of domains for business purposes. For that I use webhostinghub reasonable price, great support, lots of features and options.

@navigatorTR Yes, our subscriptions include database servers, e-mail servers, and basically unlimited space for our web sites. I don't recall the exact $$ but it's somewhere between $150 and $250 for the year. For people that want to use web content management packages ( I think they are called CMSs), like Word-Press or such, they provide them part of the service, at least the main trunks. Specialized 3rd party add-ons will have to be imported from elsewhere.

@Heartlander so you want one product as a bundle i think. right ?
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@navigatorTR

No, the services are bundled and comprehensive, but one also has the options to use a comprehensive CMS within the service to build and manage some or even all of their web site. Some web hosting services charge for components, like X$ for e-mail server, Y$ for domain hosting, Z$ for database server, etc.

We however roll our own for the websites and use a dozen assorted tools and services to fill our needs as necessary (I'm an old programmer). But for those who want a bundled package like Word-Press, Joomla, Drupal, etc., it's available at no extra cost.
Netflix and Scribd (an online library/audiobook website).

@Mamapolo2016 do u search for illegal pdf's sometimes ? in some cases its really hard to know if a pdf download is legal or violating the copyrights
@navigatorTR I haven't intentionally searched for illegal pdf's. I think "the labourer is worthy of his/her hire."

It's possible I found some accidentally. I doubt there's a heading that says "this is illegal."
