the mechanism described by the theory of evolution is inevitable and so basic it cannot be false.the debate is really about whether that mechanism is the only reason for the diversity of life or whether there were other forces involved, but yeah,if you happen to have better genes you're probability of having kids that will also have kids are better and with time the genes that make you better will be more present in the population than the genes that made the others suck at living and having kids.
