What is your prediction for the future?

People always make predictions of what is the technology going to be in X years. Most of those are of course wrong, but we shall not worry about that at the moment :).

I think that in 20 years brain-computer interfaces are going to be a common thing. So, no more typing or clicking or touching.

What do you think is the technology that is a bit bonkers today that will be available in 20 years?

I don't believe brain-computer interfaces are possible by 2040.

What will be common though, and by 2030, the latest, is AI/data-driven computing intervention, that will predict what you'll most likely want to done, and with your permission, do it.

The problem with technology predictions, is that we don't know what we don't know.

If you had asked this question in 1970, no one would have guessed the Cell Phone.

@Northwest We could summarize this with the quote: "It is hard to predict, especially the future"

I am not so pessimistic about the interface, there have been major leaps in this area, so I think it is plausible. And of course, I agree that there will be things which surprise us all.

@Peppa :D so, we will all be gone? But what if we are more optimistic and we focus on technology. Do you think we will make some crucial improvements in 20 years?

@sumojumo i hate technology because as helpful as it is, people aways corrupt and turn it for perverse use.
The problem is its always people with money that demand it and sell it to the poor.

@Peppa I would blame capitalism more than technology, but I have to agree that they go hand-in-hand a little bit too well.

@Spoiledbrat Death is quite common today as well, am I wrong?
