Isn't it crazy that (virtually) all the life on this planet is dependent on the radiation from a star?

not really we are all elements that coexist and part of us have components deriving from up above

@iQuit

our constituent parts don't come from the sun but our ability to live on this planet does
iQuit · F
@Pikachu THE SUN is made up of:
[c=#BF0080]hydrogen [/c](about 70%) and helium (about 28%).[c=#7700B2] Carbon[/c], [c=#009E4F]nitrogen[/c] and [c=#003BB2]oxygen[/c] make up 1.5% and the other 0.5% is made up of small amounts of many other elements such as neon, iron, silicon, [c=#004A59]magnesium[/c] and [c=#4C0073]sulfur[/c].

WE HUMANS are made up of:
Almost 99% of the mass of the human body is made up of six elements: [c=#003BB2]oxygen[/c],[c=#7700B2] carbon[/c], [c=#BF0080]hydrogen[/c],[c=#009E4F] nitrogen[/c], calcium, and phosphorus. Only about 0.85% is composed of another five elements: potassium, [c=#4C0073]sulfur[/c], sodium, chlorine, and[c=#008099] magnesium[/c].

THERE now is it more clear what I said is true and our core parts are part of a bigger scale.
Consider the BIG BANG
then watch the video I attached so you get what I was referring to in all of this
@iQuit

I did watch the video and i really like your colour coded post. I just don't understand your objection.

Me: life on this planet is dependent upon radiation from a star
You: not really, here are the sources of the elements of our makeup
Me: without the radiation from the sun, we would not be alive regardless of where our elements came from.

What am i missing here?
iQuit · F
@Pikachu You took it as an objection
but....

truth is
you asked :isn't it crazy....
I said :not really

then posted giving further support to your statement by adding how the universe is interconnected

THAT is where you jumped the gun and started trying to make this into a debate
@iQuit

Sorry, debate it kind of my default mode.

I guess i don't understand how the fact that our constituent parts exist elsewhere in the universe has anything to do with how naynays is the idea that we only live because of radiation from a star.
iQuit · F
@Pikachu Step1- Question yourself why it is that this planet has the ability to produce the life it has.

Can't ignore the building blocks to life

When comparing our planet to the others such as

Mercury's thin atmosphere contains hydrogen, helium, and oxygen. It also has smaller amounts of sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium.
Venus' atmosphere is mainly made up of carbon dioxide (96%) and nitrogen (3%), with small amounts of other gases.
Mars also holds nutrients such as sodium, potassium, chloride and magnesium.

Instead of debating why I added what I did just accept it as an added informative

I was not surprised by the role of the sun
as it too is but one component of this entire galaxy within the solar system
@iQuit

lol ok. I mean i was already familiar with the concept but thanks for sharing it here.
I just find it mind blowing that without radiation coming off a nearby star, none of us would be alive.
iQuit · F
@Pikachu
well it's nice that your mind is blown,
but honestly, mine isn't just because I kind of see it all as a web
where so many things are interconnected

the second video is long but interesting and adds to the role of life to this planet
not only the sun's role but how this terrestrial planet has the ability for so much feel free to check it out
@iQuit

That's ok. We're allowed to be impressed by different things. Sorry this became so debatey lol
