colonizing is bad

@SW-User why is colonizing bad? At least for areas without prior sentient life?
SW-User
@ViciDraco we'll destroy their planets too? no
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@SW-User but what if no one is there? First we have to make planets livable.
SW-User
@ViciDraco it's pretty arrogant to say we deserve to change entire planets and possibly ruin it for the life that exists there just cause we think we're cleverer

in his hypothetical scenario there is no prior life. And even if there is life on other planets, there's none on the planets that's reachable to us.
SW-User
even if there isn't life there, we're still destroying the planet by colonizing it and literally changing it to suit our own purposes even tho it's not meant for us
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@SW-User I totally agree
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@SW-User so better to consign ourselves to extinction?
SW-User
@ViciDraco yeah, maybe. if we can't take care of this planet, then we can't take care of any other planet either.
