Should we be trying to colonize space?

in his hypothetical scenario there is no prior life. And even if there is life on other planets, there's none on the planets that's reachable to us.

even if there isn't life there, we're still destroying the planet by colonizing it and literally changing it to suit our own purposes even tho it's not meant for us
