Paleontology is interesting. What drew you to it?
Munumbis · 46-50, M
@FossilLady I've watched a few videos stuff like the Bonneville flood. I grew up on the Mojave desert hiked all over it. The distant past is fascinating. How it was , lake Lahonton is interesting too.
FossilLady · 26-30, FNew
@Munumbis Oooo! That’s new for me. I’ll look into that more. It sounds fascinating.

@FossilLady The Bonneville flood is incredible. A change in the course of the snake river made it dump into lake Bonneville. A thousand years later this made the lake break through a saddle. Remnants of the flood are visible today. I've seen fossilized animal tracks and found premineralized bones in the bed of lake lahonton near lovelock nevada. This was recovered from the bottom of a ditch on the bed of lake lahonton. It would have been about 10 or so feet down except for the ditch excavated into the lake. Its part of a turtle skeleton.
Top is probably the jaw of some kind of fish.

Be careful of the fossilized specimens! 🙃
There's petrified wood all around, especially if you dig to any depth. 😈
Think of this place like the Mojave desert of the Internet. Mirages happen throughout it. 🤣
