Just wondering

Is Jello a solid or a liquid?

Liquid I think -but very viscous. Like glass is also a liquid.

EDIT - apparently things have moved on since I was at school and glass is now an "amorphous solid". So who knows what jello is! 🤣

@CheekyBadger Good reasoning.

@CheekyBadger An amorphous solid is simply a liquid that does not flow. 😏
Its atomic/molecular structure is disordered like that of a liquid but the particles don't have enough energy to move freely.
@helenS thanks - you've cheered me up!

No it's not. It is a solid that doesn't form a long range crystal structure, but it isn't a liquid. Polymers for example.

@MethDozer A short-range structure is found in almost all liquids. Water is a perfect example; liquid Helium is the big exception.
