Does West Virginia have a complex that it’s clearly subordinate to regular Virginia?

Like the Dakotas and Carolinas get pretty equivalent billing.
North Dakota once considered dropping the "North" in an effort to increase tourism. Obviously, it would have taken much more than that.

I once had a tee shirt that read, "Summer finally came to North Dakota but I had to work that day!"

Actually WV became a different state because of the civil war. West VA wanted to stay in the Union. So they did.

@Steve42 Yeah, but that was more than a century and a half ago.
@LordShadowfire The Carolinas separated in 1729.
