This is just personal conjecture. Make of it what you like.
The Olympics are taking place in China.
A deadly virus came out of China at the end of 2019, bringing disruption and disaster to many countries. Recovery for all will be very difficult.
You perhaps believe that the Chinese leadership is a humane, beneficent organ which thrives on respect for all, with no particular aspirations regarding world domination.
Or you may be suspicious of China, and see it as a potential threat to world peace, ready to stop at nothing to get the upper hand over all.
If you are in the latter camp, then do you see as far-fetched the idea that Chinese scientists might have done some gene-splicing and general bioengineering (as they may well have been doing in Wuhan a couple of years ago, with the help of NIH funds), in order to create a more deadly disease than Covid-19?
Disease for which they have the antidote (the usual practice, apparently, when military scientists are developing weapons), which they might be stockpiling for their own future use?
A "virus" which could easily be tweaked to lengthen its incubation period to, say, four weeks, symptom-free?
This "virus" could - accidentally or otherwise - be silently released among participants and spectators of the games, who would the take it home, unsuspecting and feeling fine, to all nations.
The worldwide spread would be guaranteed. Fatalities would follow, en masse. No treatments would be available. But the Chinese would be ok.
It could be for example, a disease which induces bleeding, leading to death.
Possible, or not? We will soon know, in a month or two. Watch this space...
