Is talent genetic?

So I was speaking with my sister, who told me we are all copies of past humans, especially our parents, copy and pastes especially when we age, have children, ect ect
Genetics plays a big part, so those that are talented musically, sports wise, creative wise, is it really just good genetics, was someone in their bloodline the same, or random, I do believe your environment and exposure is needed for this to work, but the actual talent is genetic?
This whole anyone can do anything is cap, some people are born singers, actors, farmers, artists, I can try all of those to my best and still suck.

Talent is genetic, but the environment plays an important role in fostering it, or stiffing it. Many factors come into play, but it all starts with genetic make up.

Even talent requires hard work to cultivate and even untalented can work hard to develop.

It's genetic but of course you need to practice. Overall the further away you go from your gene pool when choosing a partner, the better your chance in getting exceptional offsprings.
You may be born with it but doesn’t mean anybody else in your family was, so I think the question is pretty complicated.

Genes are important. But so is hard work. A lot of people with little talent succeed because they try so hard.

I can sing but nobody else in my family can. Maybe an ancestor could but my parents cant
@scabs Very possible. My entire family is musical—both sides. But my father was the only who could sing well, until my niece came along.

Sometimes. My dad is very smart and he went to a private school and so do I.
My mum played the harp when she was a kid, and I play it too now.
But those things were things my parents asked me to work hard for.

Talent is genetic but usually you can't do anything with talent alone.

It has to be talent multiply experience/practice

And you can usually get the same results with less talent and more practice as a substitute.

Talent is genetic. But I would only include singers and artists from you list and not actors and farmers, as those are societal traits. Like anyone can be made an actor or farmer, but not a singer or a musician. Art is inherent, but science is developed.

But "Anyone can do anything" just means that the world is free and open for anyone to do anything, and does not mean that any person can become anything. For instance one astrologer told me that I would have become a great doctor especially a surgeon, but I have become a software analyst and a surgeon in it, when it comes to solving problems and fixing systems.

So it is all in how we interpret.

It's not just about talent but also behavior and hobbies. They can be genetic as well 🙂
Hikikomoribabe99 · 22-25, F
@HealingInSilence do you believe we are just copies of our genetic cells nothing more? I mean for starters every thought is not original, some other human somewhere has thought of that to.
HealingInSilence · 22-25, M
@Hikikomoribabe99 of course, we're copies. Our thoughts are not original. We think about things that other people are doing or wanting. We think about stuff that other people already have.
I thought some apes got their freak on and we evolved from them 🤔
