I Received Corporal Punishment At School

Aged 9. Talking with three other boys while waiting for a gym class. Teacher told us to report to him when we were changed, which meant our bottoms were protected just by very flimsy cotton shorts. Rest of the class lined up to watch. I went first. "Touch your toes!" Two hard whacks, then joined the rest of the class, fighting back my tears, to watch the other three get it. A big red rash on my bum when I examined it afterwards.

What country are you in? Teachers here will get suspended if they do that here.

@DonNature: England. Any form of corporal punishment has been illegal in state schools here since the late 1980s, and in private schools as well since around 2000. My story took place in 1960, when all sorts of corporal punishment were entirely normal here!

@DonNature: Corporal punishment was common when I was at school. Some of my teachers in junior school used the slipper in class and nearly all the teachers in my secondary school did. I got the slipper more times than I can remember.
