I Witnessed Corporal Punishment At School

In the UK I doubt there are many boys, particularly, who grew up in the 1950s and '60s (like me) who didn't see at least one of their classmates whacked with a gymshoe by a particularly sadistic PE teacher!

I always notice that people really love comments that support their point of view, even if that point of view goes against basic human rights.
No child should be hit by their parent. It is not cool and it is not "sexy". Your parent should be someone that loves and protects you. Every parent should want what is best for a child and hitting them is not it! You can teach them to respect you without physical punishment becoming part of that.
As I stated, my father did spank me as a child. All it did was make me angry at him. I felt unheard and unloved. I was scared of my father, until I got older and he stopped spanking me, and instead talked to me like a normal person would. We were able to mend our relationship, but I doubt it would have turned out that way had he continued on.
Why any adult would want to abuse the power that they have over a small child by spanking them/hitting them is beyond me. It sounds like some sort of mental complex.
I know that this has some sort of weird fetish/cult following and I personally could care less about fetishes, being in the BDSM scene myself, but that is between two consenting adults. Not parent and child. That takes this to some sort of sick level.
