I Have Been A Victim Of Unfair Punishments At School

Right, I don't think this is the right heading for this, but I don't care. Me and numerous others are all in the same situation with this, and I'm going to start a revolution to (hopefully) change parents' attitudes a bit! So anyone who's a parent sit back at try to understand this for our point of view...

In quite a few cases if a child/teenager gets into trouble at school then we get punished at school. But those of us with stricter parents get punished again at home. So in effect we've been punished TWICE for the same thing. However, what is really unfair is the punishment at home is usually even harsher than if we'd done the same thing at home. So not only are we getting doubly punished, we're getting even more than that!

So, how can that be fair? Mess up at home, get punished once. Mess up the same away from home, get punished harsher. Mess up the same at school at get punished even harsher again, as well as suffering whatever the school want to dish out.

Now, don't get me wrong - I'm not saying I don't deserve any punishment, because that would just be completely stupid! BUT why does the level of punishment vary so much?

Try using the Double Jeopardy defence:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_jeopardy

My dad wanted to ground me following a detention at school for being persistently late. I used the defence that I could not be tried twice for the same offence and it sort of worked . . although I had to do extra chores for the rest of the week 馃様

@TammieBear The double jeopardy law has been repealed in the UK, at least for serious offences.

@Katy03 It sounds like you never had it to begin with.
