I Received Corporal Punishment At School
My first taste of corporal punishment happened at the age of 11, in the gym while we were playing volley ball. We were warned not to kick the ball, even though it looked just like a football. As the lesson drew to a close, the ball came bouncing over to where I was standing, I instinctively kicked it back, and to make matters worse it hit the teacher on the side of the head. The rest of the lads roared with laughter which made things worse. Mr McDougal pointed to the vaulting horse. I made the walk of shame, with that sickly expression you see when TV quiz contestants are told by Anne Robinson "you are the weakest link, goodbye!" A few seconds later I was bent over the horse knowing that thirty odd pairs of eyes were firmly fixed to my now upturned bottom. My shorts were pulled up tight by Mr McDougal, who then rather unnecessarily, lightly smoothed his palm across my left buttock, checking that I did not have a pair of underpants on underneath. Then he stepped back and spanked me twice with a plimsol, which he had borrowed from a boy sitting near to him. This episode was seen as something as very comical by the rest of the boys. They soon informed the girls in my class, as to what had happened to me and for the next few days i had to withstand their sarcastic comments, about getting my bottom smacked – it was so humiliating!
