I Received Corporal Punishment At School

When I was 8-years-old, in the second grade, I received corporal punishment for a thing that I didn't do. Far back as I could remember, I was just doing my school work like my teacher tells me to. In the middle of the session of me working, a student is ridiculing and harassing me, and I try to get the teacher to get him away from, and she tells me to be quiet, or I'd go to the office. Once I got back to work, the same thing happens again, and again I try to get her to get him away from me, and she sends me to the office over something I didn't do.

While sitting in the front office about a half hour or so, hoping I'd cleared and sent back to class, the principal and the assistant principal call me in. They have me wait outside his office for like 5 minutes maybe, and it wasn't long before they finally call me in. Little did I know that they were forging my mother's signature on the authorized part of the contract, authorizing himself in doing what he was never allowed to me even if I did do something wrong, which I didn't. As I'm sitting in there hearing what he's saying to me, he goes on with what he's saying; he kept talking and talking and talking and not giving me a chance to explain what really happened. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, he finally does to me what he was never allowed to me to start off with. He had me bend over the chair, and he took this board of about three or four inches thick, and he hits me on the rear with it about six times with it giving me the savage beating of my life, and I felt like I was on fire. I was crying my eyes out over the agonizing pain I took for someone else and something I didn't do. I hardly felt like I could sit down or anything. I was blowing my nose, and he tells me "Throw that tissue away. That's nasty." But I didn't care, I was in that situation because of what he did to me that he never was allowed to me. It did happen once, but never again did it ever happen.

Next thing I know, my mother had this meeting with the superintendent, and the principal, even, about the savage beating he did. They decided they'd give him a warning not for it to happen again, and he said to my mother throwing it in her face, "If you think I did something wrong, I feel very sorry for you." That's what even worse.

Because of what he did to me, it's why I'm against corporal punishment in every case, especially for those who didn't the things they were falsely accused of. It's why I hate certain people who disrespect even little children. And because of that, it's why I'll see to it that it never happens to my next generation after me, the same as my sister-in-law said they'd never let anyone do that, or it'd be lawsuit.

I, however, at least did leave there with my sanity. And yet it was bad enough what that man did to me, but somewhere along the line, I heard this one other story about him, and I believed it to be true. Alas, they were true. He actually did do the very same thing to this one boy in our school so bad, so worse to him than to any other student. It happened more than once or twice. It happened so many times to that boy, the little fella had to give up grade school and went into the loony bin.

That is why, because of all that, and everything else I said, why I'll never let that happen to my generation after me, and it'd be wise to not let a thing like that happen to another child again.

Well, that is my story.

I had a similar thing happen to me in elementary school, another boy was trying to fight with me and I was holding him away, but the teacher took both of us to principal and without even a question about what happened he took a ruler to the palm of my hand several times. I was punished for doing nothing wrong.

It is one of those memories that remains for life as it was so meaningless. The principal thought he was doing something good, but clearly was not.

I got whacked for things I didn't do, but at home, not at school.
