I Witnessed Corporal Punishment At School

Back in the late 1960s I taught for a term at a boys' prep school before going up to university. One morning, the matron came into the staff room and announced "P****** was caned last night". What I remember particularly was the slight lascivious smirk on her face as she said it. I assume the boy was actually caned by the headmaster, but I'm sure the matron wished she could have administered the caning herself.

I attended a state co-educational school in the 1960's,where the cane was the usual form of punishment,the female staff,particularly the older staff,were regarded as the "hardest caners" who always seemed to enjoy it.

Some years ago I corresponded with a woman who had been for a short time, in a pro-CP campaign group around the time of the debates on banning it in British schools.

Sally said they'd hand out questionnaires in shopping-centres around her English Midlands area, and she sent me a copy and a summary of the results. About 70 had responded to about 100 forms; all predictably saying "Yes" to CP's retention - Sally said it was something of preaching to the converted.

The questionnaire was amateurish, not exactly good statistics, and somewhat salacious in details; but I noticed that the results showed the women tended to be crueller than the men.

This did surprise me, I must admit. My pen-friend wondered if the men knew their greater physical strength so were a bit more wary of going too far.

Sally was all for erotic adult spanking, hence our pen-friendship, but said she left the group when she began to suspect the murkier motives of some its leading members.
