Texas is requiring bible studies in public schools

That is ridiculous and not separating church and state. Incentivizing public schools with more funding to teach bible studies is a form of theocracy. A public school is a secular institution and should be free from pushing religion on its students. Now if students wanted to learn about religious studies as optional and learn classics from western literature I would see no problem. But forcing religion on others is not acceptable.

Schools and government should be secular. I think that’s fair for everyone including religious people

This should not be happening at all in any US public schools. This is why there is separation of church and state. Unbelievable that this is allowed in public schools. Absolutely ridiculous and incredibly insulting to our country's values and freedoms. I guess the US Constitution means nothing nowadays when it comes to this. So sad 😞

It's so unacceptable. If we were a proper country the Supreme Court wouldn't let this slide but sadly they lost their backbone.

Requiring? I love the Bible so for me this is like meh whatever, but I find this bit of news to be farfetched for today's day and age, are u sure it's a law that passed or just smith u heard from some fanatic
@turtle777rescuer The Texas State Board of Education passed it. It will not take effect for several years (I forget the actual date) so there is still time to fight it.

It clearly ignores the Constitutional separation of Church and State.
