Why I hated my elementary school Teacher
I'm not here to get sympathy. I just wanted to share my experience.
From kindergarten through third grade, I went to Frost Lake Elementary and was placed in the autism program. During that time, I experienced verbal abuse from both the main autism teacher and the teacher’s aides.
They would make negative comments about me, like criticizing my handwriting in a harsh, disrespectful way. Sometimes they would scream directly in my face, to the point where it would make me cry. One of the worst parts was how unfair they were when it came to discipline they treated me more harshly than the other students and showed clear favoritism.
At the time, I didn’t question it because I thought that kind of treatment was normal. But looking back now, I can see how wrong and messed up it actually was.
I'm now 21 and it still bothers me.
