Got thoughts on public education?

I work in the system as a substitute teacher, for two counties in the state of Florida. (Which has some of the best public schools in the country.)

Public education is critically important. It should be about the 3 Rs...Reading, wRiting, and aRithmetic. Period. It's not an easy job. Teachers in many areas get paid crap, while others make a reasonably good salary. They all deserve to make a decent living. And for God's sake, let's drop the political agendas in schools.
