Got thoughts on public education?

I work in the system as a substitute teacher, for two counties in the state of Florida. (Which has some of the best public schools in the country.)

I would say content has suffered immensely due to leftist agendas. Teachers are told to teach leftist propaganda and not RRR.

@MasterLee @MasterLee We're pretty fortunate here in Florida (at least in the two counties I sub at.) So far I haven't seen any Critical Race Theory in the schools I sub at (which include elementary, middle and high schools.) And I look at the textbooks very carefully. That doesn't mean all counties are so responsible. Broward County here in Florida is kind of a joke, to the real teachers here.

@MasterLee I would actually go along with that. Yes, you have to tow the woke line. But it is not all Left wing. Mrs Thatcher claimed to have traditional British values, and introduced Clause Twenty Eight. It was the first time in our history that gay women were considered unacceptable.
@Reason10 There's a reason you haven't seen CRT in any school curriculums in the two counties where you substitute. teach. It don't exist in any public school........anywhere. It's a made up problem that Republicans use to dupe the stupid. Its like saying if you elect me I will swear to you I will eradicate Martians in our government. If a problem don't exist in the beginning.........you can really look good by "fixing it". And someone stupid will think you're just the best because by golly from that day we elected you on,,...not one soul has seen a Martian in our government.

@SumTingWong Oh, CRT IS in blue state schools. Several states have banned it, but it definitely exists. And California is even making noise about banning it in their inferior public reeducation camps. As far as duping the stupid, it's pretty easy, since 99 percent of the stupid are Democrat.

@MasterLee In some schools that is true. I'm proud to say that in the two Florida counties I sub at, so far there ARE some left wing teachers, (one Math teacher had a huge Obama poster in her classroom; one had a BLM sticker on the inside of his desk) but so far, they are sticking to the academic subjects, for the simple reason that they just don't have enough time for anything else. The Florida education curriculum for our kids is jam packed with the academic items they'll need to apply for college. Governor Jeb Bush (around the turn of the century) signed several education bills into law that took Florida from the bottom 48 percent in the country to the top ten. More is expected, not only of our students but our teachers as well.
