Prison or middle school

There’s a teaching position available at my kid’s middle school and there’s a teaching position available at my friends place of employment, which is a maximum security prison. Honestly, I can’t decide which one I would rather choose.

Prisoners you are helping people get a second chance in life
@MonaMartinez86

I’m easy on the eyes (especially at their deprived standards lol), as well as charismatic, engaging, funny and intelligent—all the qualities a teacher should possess. I am aware I will have to keep my tone in check, and corral my innate natural cheeky teaching style.

I am concerned about possible inappropriate behaviors or even a random act of violence. This is a maximum security facility and I know how to talk to sixth graders, but what if a prisoner gets offended and kicks off or what if there is a fight amongst the inmates during class? There will always be an armed guard in the classroom but one guard (maybe 2) and a room full of prisoners…. Hmmmm.

I am being realistic here and imagining the scenarios.

However, like some of you have mentioned, 6th grade is no better, especially in light of the tragedy in Tennessee.
