My wife's a teacher and, when she was doing fill-in work for secondary schools she'd sometimes come across student girls that had crushes on her. She used to find it a bit uncomfortable, to be honest.
So, I can see how some teachers could be tempted. However, it shouldn't happen. There's ethics and frameworks, professionally and legally that one should adhere to, never mind the morality of it.
One of the reasons that she works with juniors now. She just gets big hugs, sweets and apples! None of that emotional concern that she used to.

@bhatjc Hmmm...think the latter....She thinks the latter! Lol! No, but seriously, I don't think they cared for the grade....
Just think about it; from a point of view that as a young adult, you're spending a good amount of time, per day, with this person that listens to you, treats you as an adult....it can get quite mixed up, intoxicating feelings, for the kid.
It's probably the first time that they're being treated with a little respect...
So, I get the signals. But, of course, morally and professionally, that's wrong.
