Small correction here.
The Us was founded by puritans who though that Europe and England were being too promiscuous so they settled here
Actually, the Puritans had an official charter from the King of England to establish a colony and had not separated from the Church of England. It had nothing to do with their ideas of promiscuity.
Having said that, It's important to note that the level of sexual repression can vary greatly within and among different countries, and making broad generalizations can be problematic. However, in certain aspects, the United States may be perceived as less sexually repressed than some other countries. Here are some examples:
1) More liberal attitudes toward sex education: The United States, in some regions, has more comprehensive sex education programs in schools compared to countries where conservative or religious values influence the curriculum, leading to a more open and informed discussion about sexuality.
2) Access to contraception and sexual health services: In the United States, contraception and sexual health services are widely available, and there is relatively easy access to contraceptives, condoms, and sexual health clinics. Granted there are more abortion restrictions than a few years ago, a majority of the states still protect a woman's choice.
3) A relatively open media culture: American media, including television, movies, and the internet, often depict more explicit content compared to some other countries. This openness in media can contribute to a perception of reduced sexual repression.
4) LGBTQ+ rights and acceptance: The United States has made significant progress in recognizing and protecting the rights of the LGBTQ+ community, including legalizing same-sex marriage. While there is still progress to be made, this has contributed to a more open and accepting atmosphere regarding diverse sexual orientations.
5) The availability of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities: The U.S. has a wide range of communities and support networks for people with diverse sexual orientations and gender identities. These communities contribute to a more accepting and open approach to discussing and expressing one's sexuality.
6) Legalized pornography: The United States has a significant pornography industry, and the production and distribution of pornography is generally legal in many states, which can be seen as a sign of sexual openness.
It's essential to remember that the United States is a large and diverse country, and attitudes toward sexuality can vary significantly depending on region, culture, religion, and individual beliefs. Additionally, the perception of sexual repression can be subjective, and what one person considers repressive, another may not. Comparing the United States to other countries in this context is complex and can't be generalized universally.
