@sarabee1995 we can argue the semantics, but I think the OP meant more in the longer term. But I get your point, and it is the same as i mention med, you can't decide what is truly best until as ll activities related are Finished.

@samueltyler2 Looking at his syntax, I thing he was contrasting the "right thing" with the "best long term course of action". To me, this implies that it is the right thing in the moment that is being contrasted with the best thing in the fullness of time.

My "life philosophy" (in so much as any of us truly has one) is to always do the right thing in the moment. More often than not, this results in the best long term course of action, but not always. In those cases where I've made a decision that did not end up being the best long term course of action, I've been able to explain the circumstances of the moment and the reason for choosing the right thing. 🤷‍♀
