Bpd? I dont know if it refers to bipolar disorder or borderline personality. My ex was bipolar Bpd and i have a friend who has borderline personality disorder BPD. The Bpd ex had high and low moods and started self medicating with cannabis after she couldn't afford her meds anymore, the sex was fantastic during high tides and she was hard to be around during the lows she was unlucky enough that she couldnt hold down a job for longer than 3months. Do yourself a favour and watch the movie 'infinitely polar bear' to learn about what dating a Bpd person is like.
My friend with BPD on the other hand, a lady, is lucky enough to have a job and has access to meds, dating her would be like dating her different personalities some are more mature than others but it makes her incredibly conceited and abit of a self absorbed black hole, and she can get quite draining on a person, so hypothetically id get hurt when she woke up with a different persona than the one i bonded with up to that point and i figured that would be too painful for my fragile ego to bear, so i avoided any romantic inclinations. We are good friends but i know my limits.
Every person is unique so you must decide for yourself, best to read up about the conditions and decide what your boundries are, as you dont want a codependent relationship that drains you.

There is no talking your hurt out of such a situation.
Either you have to accept this is what it will be and stop taking their highs and lows personally, or exit the relationship and find a way to heal the hurt that is there.

You are in for a rough ride. You already know enough to know this. Either accept his ups and downs or end it. It is hard enough for him. It is a choice. I know a sweet guy. He is bipolar. Good heart. Too hard upon himself. I would not get involved with him. He is a dear friend. Research it. Be realistic. Then decide. It is a roller coaster ride for sure.
Oh, Borderline Personality Disorder is the toughest mental health disorder. Incurable. So hard to manage. Choose carefully.

@Therealsteve yes. It is rare someone with BPD will ever recover. They really have to want to get better and work at it every day. Unfortunately many don't even acknowledge they need help nor see the way they treat others as toxic or worse abusive.

@Starcrossed I could DM you the absolute mental torture she put me through before then blocking me. But somehow i still crave and love her :(

@Therealsteve you might want fo research "trauma bond" and also codependency.

@Therealsteve I'm not a therapist..you need to talk to a therapist

What is there to talk about? You can endure it or leave. Nothing is likely to change.

@BabyDolls i find those definitions are narrow and often very ignorant
I have been under "examination" for my own variations
and have had ohh like 5?6/? things. i understand each one, and why they use the lables they do
i am not sure i think such lables are even real.
I think there is enormous range in Human normal

I've only had a few runins with Borderlines and they are a handful to say the least. Best thing you can do is talk to a professional. You're all good or all bad, pretty much, with a Borderline.
