My new boyfriend is struggling with the huge love we have found in each other

I've been through this rodeo before. I know what to expect with the tears that come simply from realizing you're in love. It messes with each one of your emotions, it makes us re-evaluate ourselves. He thinks he is a piece of garbage that doesn't deserve my love. But he's the most kind, gentle and thoughtful guy I've ever known. He's been suicidal lately. Struggling with I'm not even sure what. I asked him if he's in a state of shock from finding a first time true love in me and he said yes that's exactly what it is. Any of you ever experienced going manic, or getting depressed or anything extreme like that just from falling in love?

I’ve been manic due to being in love with someone.
I experience being love sick as a symptom.
Strangely I have been through breakups with the loves of my life and I have not been as upset as I would’ve imagined I would be but I think it’s because of the way that I tend to grieve for anyone that is more complex and complicated than just outright identifiable emotions and emotional responses.

I hope it lasts forever

@dale74 The mania or the love?! I hope that you are referring to the latter as the former can be hellacious!!

@Badjujubee always the love so many people now days are overblown with the fake lives on TV and Internet. Love the simple love between two can be the best thing in the world.

@dale74 I fully agree that in this synthetic world without much genuine emotion it’s very important that true love exists and eclipses the fake and the false. ❤

It doesn't matter how good one's life is going, mental health issues can still cause depression, anxiety and all the rest.

As the saying goes, the worst thing God can do is answer your prayers.

i wouldn't exactly construe that as a healthy reaction of any sorts towards any situation, no.

Sounds like ya need to get to work on cleaning up that mess or it'll surely be a drama filled disaster.

No, it’s always been a giddy high. I hope he’s seeing a therapist

He is seeing one actually. I also told him I'm his therapist and spiritual advisor too
