Gas station flowers🤷‍♀️

So I'm dating this new guy for awhile now and he brings me flowers, they're a little "not fresh" but I was still thankful as I was cooking a big meal for us, however when I asked about it he was like, "oh yh these I picked them up at the gas station" part of me is like gas station flowers really? You couldn't pop into M&S and grab me something prettier and fresher but also part of me is like it's the thought that counts but then part of me is like, one of my married friends, the girls I follow on Instagram, don't get gas station flowers, then another part is like girl stop thinking too much, so would you accept gas station flowers, or is it selling yourself cheap?
Can you really be cheap in a relationship, if the guys still dating you?
Should you set higher standards or settle for what you get?

I think you're thinking too much about this one.

Personally. I mean flowers are flowers.

I guess as far as a romantic jesture though he could have gone further out of his way.

but I mean these days it's as easy as 1800flowers or just ordering some online.

@BetweenKittensandRiots true definitely, but I will say I live very far out in the countryside and there's nothing nearby, without going all out your way, just seems other girls got it better🤷‍♀️
@Hikikomoribabe99 I think though it's more about the effort he actually put in to this one. Like the one below said kinda last minute.

@BetweenKittensandRiots yh like I'm really greatful I even got any, they're still up now but your right, probably thinking a lil too much on this one, but I have friends and even family where I know if I told them that, they would be like leave him, my family are like that, if it's not big and showy, better than what they're getting, they will just talk rubbish behind back🙄
@Hikikomoribabe99 Love isn't one of those things where you need your people to be jealous of you about.

Seriously. It's why I question weddings. I'm like yes but do we really need to blow 20k just to make our friends all jealous of what we have? please don't make me waste my money that way.

I'm in love myself, I couldn't CARE LESS if my people judged us and thought less of me for whom I fell for.

I don't care what they think, I don't care what they say, what do they know about this love anyways?[/u][/i][/b]

I mean I know etheridge meant it in a completely different way. still resonates.
