Came across my first snake for the new season (both)

Dugite - Spotted Brown Snake
This one was sunning itself on the road. I was able to get very close and it showed me no aggression.
Dugites are very dangerous and if untreated after being bitten, humans can, and do die.
The last death by a Dugite in Western Australia was a 41 year old male, in 2014, he was bitten multiple times on hand and arm while trying to grab and kill the snake.
He refused first aid and collapsed and died 45 minutes later.
This one was about 600mm - 2 feet long

Looks very thick for only being 2 feet (600mm). Must be well fed.

This southern Pacific rattle snake are one of our most dangerous in all of the USA. And are around 3 feet (914mm). It's bite is both poisonous and neurotoxic... Paralyzing.

That flowering plant is close to a foot wide. My foot is a foot long.
