Lets us remember today St Francis of Assisi

This year is the 800th anniversary of the death of St Francis of Assisi, which is marked by a special Jubilee Year of St Francis proclaimed by Pope Leo XIV, running from January 10, 2026, to January 10, 2027.

Commemorations take place in Assisi every year on the day on which St Francis died, October 3, featuring the solemn Transitus (the prayer service marking his transition into eternal life) and this year a festive bell-ringing worldwide called by the Basilica of St. Francis.
