What Is Praying In The Spirit?

This is a subject that's been debated in the church for a while now. I didn't understand it myself till I saw it written in the Bible. Some say it's deep prayer while some say it's speaking in other tongues. This is what the Bible says.

The Bible says praying in the spirit is praying in other tongues.

@Thandeka I think it has something to do with our hearts and being repentant speaking it out loud confessing our sins

@Heavenlywarrior There's different types of prayer. Praying for forgiveness of sins is different from praying in the spirit. I didn't know this myself till I saw Ephesians 6:18. It says in 1 Corinthians 4:14 that when you pray in tongues your spirit prays and that your understanding is unfruitful because you're not praying in a known tongue.

@Thandeka every time you pray your spirit prays... but you can pray from earth or your spirit can go to heaven and speak..
