Because God is no liar. He is incapable of lying and so I know I can trust His Word. No other god in this universe gave their life to save us from our sins, so we could have eternal life in heaven. If it wasn't for Jesus, we would have all went to hell. There is no greater love than the love of Jesus Christ. Whom God the Father approved and appointed to be Savior of the world. But the followers of Christ do not regard it as a religion. Anyone can have "religion", but not everybody has a personal Savior. Religion did not die on the cross to save me from the condemnation that sin placed on all of us. Jesus did. Religion is man-made philosophy and is purely empty without Christ in it.
