I lost it at their handling of the child sex abuse cases. I accept that there are bad apples in any group but there is no excuse for moving known abusers from location to location to abuse again. Their mantra of protecting the church from scandal for the greater good is twisted.

@ButterRobot Objecting to the crimes of people does not discredit or demonstate that a religon is false.. It just reveals as you pointed out Bad apples.. Every church organisation in this world could be corrupt in one area or another but the actual religon can still be valid truth..
ButterRobot · 51-55, M
@Adstar sure. but their handling of the issue demonstrated to me that they lost their way. I don’t dispute God.
Adstar · 56-60, M
@ButterRobot Well yes they lost their way.. So reject their corruption but don't throw the baby out with the bathwater..

@ButterRobot OK, so what is your God's name and what has he done that shows you he exists? And what will you get for your belief in him?
ButterRobot · 51-55, M
@Diotrephes Its just a personal conviction. Some people believe in the multiverse, some people in God. I don't think its possible to show he exists...its just faith.
Adstar · 56-60, M
@ButterRobot God can show you He exists... If He wills to do so..
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@ButterRobot That's well and good but do you visualize your deity as unique to you or is he common to multitudes of others? Is he like Odin, Jupiter, Zeus, Jesus, Yahweh, Osiris, Allah, etc.?

And remember, the characters in the Bible were best buddies with God, holding face-to-face conversations and going on picnics and fishing trips with him.
ButterRobot · 51-55, M
One God. What’s the point you are trying to make ? @Diotrephes
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@ButterRobot All Gods, over 33,000,000 of the critters, have an unique name and its own specific attributes. So, does your God have a name and what are some of its attributes?

Remember, the word "God" is just a title and does not refer to a specific deity.
ButterRobot · 51-55, M
@Diotrephes Ok, one God that started the whole shebang. No name other than "God"
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@ButterRobot OK, so you believe in a creator deity. Has it done anything since then? In a way it sounds like quantum foam, which produces elemental particles that evolve into hydrogen atoms.
ButterRobot · 51-55, M
@Diotrephes I think there is a philosophical difference between what I believe and quantum foam. Maybe that is a mechanism.
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@ButterRobot May you always have a good relationship with your deity.
ButterRobot · 51-55, M
@Diotrephes May the anthropomorphic quantum foam bless you and your family :)
