Two priests refused to bury our daughter. So we married before the funeral. But then we were not welcome in a couple of churches, because we were divorced and remarried Christians 😀

SW-User
@peterlee My neighbour was charged funeral expenses twice because her son had commited suicide and needed to wait a year before being reburied on Christian ground.

If they know you're on SW, they might not let you in!

The last funeral I went to was my mother's in 1977. It was such a load of crap I've never gone to another.

@SW-User Did you like the dead enough to suffer it if not "mourn in your own way" and "refuse to see them 'like that' to keep their memories alive"

SW-User
@WolfGirlwh0r3 I don't even know the deceased. I know his wife.

If it does pretend you're in a book narrating it from your perspective. That way it can be like a story where you focus on the moment instead of whats being said. Like say a priest is talking you could think about the often hypocritical nature of priests so you provide commentary thus transforming the experience into something you control as opposed to something you have to endure. It becomes like reading a novel, while you're in the novel and writing it at the same time. That's what my brain does in situations like that 😂.
