Going to the church

Today i am off to church but not to pray. I have my own small gardening and grounds maintenece company so i volunteer to help look after the church yard and grounds. I find it sad that people dont take care of there family graves. I understand some have a reason but when its fresh they come every week then time gets longer and longer between visits.

You find it sad that people dont take care of THEIR family graves. The words "their" and "there" are unrelated and not interchangeable. Please use them correctly.

@MissBarbara The spelling error in this case does not negate or obscure the meaning of a sentence.

@FreddieUK It makes no sense whatsoever. It's not just a spelling error, it is completely the wrong word.

@MissBarbara You would make a good lawyer, but must be very frustrated on sites like this.

@FreddieUK You said "The spelling error in this case does not negate or obscure the meaning of a sentence". How can you logically justify that statement?
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@MissBarbara Because meaning in any word is not confined to the accuracy of its spelling, not least because it is not always fixed across various versions of a language. One 'hears' words as they are read and can work out that homonyms can sometimes be confused. Then there is the context. If you want to be completely tied to orthography when trying to establish meaning, you are bound to be unable to understand many posts or indeed other written material. When dealing with informal situations, such as here, there must be more elasticity than there will be in interpreting a legal document.

@FreddieUK Just because two words sound alike, that doesn't mean they are in any way related and it certainly doesn't mean they are interchangeable. That last comment does not adequately justify your earlier one.

@MissBarbara I must leave you to your disappointment that the world isn't as neat as you would like it to be.

@FreddieUK Then it's time we all started to pull together and make it so.
