I used to go to church at different times in my life

I went to two or three different types. I stopped, because no matter how times I went and no matter what type of church it was, they all were shallow and full of hate. Every donation they take goes solely to promoting themselves and funding their hateful war machines.

If Jesus (by the way his is actually Yeshua) exists I’m sure he is very sad, not because his life and teachings mean nothing to 99% of those who worship him, but because if all the murder decite and hate. His teachings were not about worshipping him they were about enlightenment, being better people, seeing value in all that is in life, and letting go of fear.

All church has become Is the empowerment hate, war, ignorance and laziness. People always say “oh you’re just a sinner”. “You”re weren’t a real Christian”. For one what exactly is a real Christian Yeshua was a jew! For over two thousand years people have been running to church like it’s a Band Aid AND don’t even know what his teachings mean. The can’t think, they just like being told what to do and what to think the churches.

In the beginning the worst was the Catholic Church. As of now they are by actually getting better. The worst is this new Maga church cult. It is nothing but evil and lead by one of the most sinister and evil men in America, and supported by two other evil “Americans”

I grew up on bases and "Protestant" chapels were whatever the base chaplains happened to be. But I stuck around longest in a high church Anglican church till I was 13. Mostly I liked the elaborate ritual and the priest was an amazing person. Really didn't care much for the religious stuff.

Then I went on to wicca and now practice Norse heathenry mixed with some folk Catholic traditions.

But yeah. I never really got the church thing. Always felt more spiritual in a forest.

What is Norse heathenry? Love to hear more about that it it sounds pretty interesting.

I liked the challenge of learning the songs and mostly grape juice.

The last couple years I went to church every week, I saw something in the lesson that made sense to me but was not something the church seemed to really ever practice. Every odd weekend a year later I would go to my best friend’s church. The level of distaste for people who are different was palpable in this church. Part of me wanted to be converted because missionary work was a chance to travel, but I was really just wanting to hang out with my best friend. A few years ago he stopped being part of the church and basically said it’s not spiritual it’s not even a religion it’s a weapon. Church is a weapon.
@Greyjedi Heathenry is reconstructionist Norse or Germanic pagan spirituality. It is more a way of life than formality of modern organized religion.

And the folk Catholicism stuff is a compromise on honouring my ancestors.
