Judge upheld right of churches to offer sanctuary.

It is a move I welcome. The church for centuries has been one place you could go to gain sanctuary from state or other actors that seek to do you harm. It is a vital roll the church plays and I am glad the judge said that churches have that right should they choose to exercise it. Kind of like priest penitent confession. What is said to your priest when the pries is performing his priestly duties remains between the priest and the penitent.

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout I think the church was correct when it opened its doors during the scandemic.

@hippyjoe1955 They tried to shut down everything where people could get together and discuss things in private about what was going on in this country. The masks in public were one way of muffling a decent conversation between folks.

@cherokeepatti Exactly. Their religion had to be more powerful than anyone else's religion. That said I was pleasantly surprised at the number of churches who did hold regular services regardless of a man made bug.

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Yes I got what you were saying. You were right that the state was formerly on the side of illegals and many state actors still hold to that belief. Of course same state actors were for the lock downs because they wanted to increase the power of the state.

@hippyjoe1955 I remember when you were posting about this and how wrong it was. Church services is not just about faith and preaching etc…it is also social bonds and helping and emotionally supporting others during trying times isn’t it?

@cherokeepatti Yes it is very important that we get together to share our faith. Not that we will lose our faith if we don't but we will be strengthened in our faith when we do.
