I do but I cannot say I am a believer in the dogma of any church. The new testament canon requires its adherents to believe that a particular individual, who lived his entire life as a Jew and claims the Supreme Being as a parent provides salvation for his believers, specifically excluding Jews from such prospects if they remain "unbelievers" in his salvation. For me, it is an intellectual stretch.
My late mother was a devout Christian who regularly attended and took me along from an early age. My late grandmother was equally committed and I accompanied her after Mother's passing. I still like various aspects of going to church. I LOVE dressing up in my Sunday apparel. I enjoy the music and, often, provide the keyboard accompaniment to the singing. The fellowship is wonderful. I find the serenity of a peaceful day of rest is therapeutic for my soul.
I became "questioning" in my teens and, actually, had some unpleasant encounters with some contemporaries when I raised those issues in the afternoon bible study meetings at the church I attended. I found the latter had little in the manner of reasoned intellectual response, although some acted out their hostility to my views in a somewhat unpleasant manner.
If it was not for the pastor of that congregation I might have left.
