Christians and the church

I hate the church and after watching Bride and Prejudice I remember one of the reasons I walked away from the church so many years ago . They are a bunch of holier than thou hippacrittes . It breaks up families , causes ill feeling and wars . A god who can judge and send people to hell for being different is not the god I want anything to do with . Love should be unconditional and not judge . Love comes above all else . My love for my kids is unconditional and non judgemental as it should be for any parent . If I had my way I would blow up every church and preacher of any faith for spewing hate and prejudice .

I lost my whole family as i refused to be part of their christian cult.

@Flossie From a Christian point of view, apostasy is a mortal sin. Your family had no choice but to disown you.
Religions are horrible 😕
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
@helenS That is incorrect. Apostacy is not a rejection of God, it is a rejection of a religion. Now, if the family has their Religion as their God, Flossie's rejection was inevitable.

God didn't come on Earth to establish any religion.

@helenS yes they destroy l8ves and cause wars. Best to avoid.

@Zeusdelight Thank you – I always thought Christians believe they are Christians as a grace of God, and that their religion is a gift from God? So: no-one is more evil than a person who knows the true religion, and rejects it.
This is from St. Peters 2nd epistle, on apostates (KJ version):
2,21: For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
2,22: But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

@helenS Their religion isn't a gift from God. Their belief in God is the grace. Just because a person follows a religion does not mean they have that grace.
