I Should Go to Church Again

I'm a Pentecostal Christian but not the name-it claim-it type that fills up most of the churches in my area. That makes me a real misfit.

According to their theology and their way of putting Bible verses together, faith would fix the (mostly mild) seizures and anything else that's wrong with me.

Well too bad. I'm praying for something much bigger than my own healing - that God will soften their hearts and help them to understand that it's not always a person's fault when they don't get healed all at once. Also that the doctors will give me proper treatment and stop the stigmatizing. But most of all, that churches will stop pulling Bible passages out of context and misapplying them.

I did not know they were like that. That's not right. It's no wonder that people turn away from the church if the writings are being misused like that. None are perfect but I suggest a change of Christian Faith

@Gumba1000 Thx. I've tried but I don't fit the other churches and I've found that any can be mean in their own way if they see a person in a vulnerable condition.

@purplepen Maybe it's your area or a culture thing. It's not like that in any I have been to. Those I go to are Catholic churches in Britain. People can be ignorant in any walk of life. Unfortunately they are in church too. God is everywhere, keep in touch with him, that's more important than going to church.

@Gumba1000 I think it is a cultural thing mostly.

@purplepen God can fix anything, only He knows why He doesn't. It it is arrogant to think that he made us ill or disabled. Why would he go to so much trouble? It's more likely He makes our souls and then stuffs them in the bodies available as far as I'm concerned.

@Gumba1000 the first part I'm sure about - that God knows why.

@purplepen I didn't mean to offend. I meant that those that said to you it's somehow your fault you are unwell, are wrong.

@Gumba1000 yes, I'm not offended, and thx for the comments.
