@Geagle
If one reads some of the works written by Christopher Hitchens (RIP) and Sam Harris you would undoubtedly find some support for your opinion.

While their viewpoints are rational I sometimes wonder about the outcome of summarily dismissing the followers of a religious faith?

People who are "believers" find benefits in adhering to the irrational .... and I don't think you are going to change these beliefs through contempt.

Unfortunately, for you, Geagle, many of these people occupy positions of political and cultural authority.

So this leaves us with some choices. Do we just outright ridicule the "faith" followers and create entrenched divisions between 'us' and 'them'? Or, can we follow a path of discourse that hopefully can ameliorate the more destructive outcomes of religious tenets with a greater tolerance for diversity?

@DistractedKate101: Nice response. I plan on moving to a more secular country in the future anyway.
