Whats a time you ended a friendship near instantly?

I had a friend (she was Christian) who I told I was going to revert to Islam. Now I was never religious before but respected her religion and always appreciated when she would be open in some way or another about her religion. But anyway back to it. I told her I was reverting and had found Islam.

During this conversation over message she didn’t really comment on it. But we did however have a FaceTime call the next day. It went like this.

Her- “Why that religion?”
Me- “because it’s what I believe to be the truth, in the same way you feel about Christianity”
Her- “but Christianity is the truth, it’s the one true religion”
Me- “I understand how you feel, as I do with Islam”
Her- “well I hope you change religion so you can get into heaven with me”
(I let that slide and changed the conversation topic, tho I felt disrespected. Later in the conversation)
Her- “well since you’re a Muslim now you’re going to be following all that allahu akbar shit”

I ended the call and blocked her immediately.

Good for you.

To mock, belittle, or reduce someone’s faith to stereotypes is not Christlike....it’s fear speaking louder than love.

@Punxi it disappointed me to be honest I told her in confidence expecting more support. But now she’s left trying to contact me all the time

@HijabiMoons Understandably so..

At times our expectations can certainly get the best of us.

The rest of that particular ball remains in your court...a volly now dependant upon your faith.

Not hers.
