Failed doomsday cult leader, Jesus never said when the Doomsday would come just that it was coming.
And it's not tortured for eternity!
What Jesus did and said is totally different than any cult leader of today or yesteryear. But see him as you please.
And you're taking away and adding your ideas to what Jesus means when he said to love him first above mother father and everything else. He's not saying put them aside, because he also says to honor your parents, to love your parents, to obey your parents. I see this person deliberately leaves out things like this so I'm not listening to anything else he says.
Why bother, but then why do atheist bother to make sure they put stuff like this on Christian sites as if......

@Charity The Jesus character is tied with the biggest hypocrite in the Bible, the God character.
Have you engaged in self-mutlilation to keep from going to hell? Jesus said that you have to do that. So, if you haven't, then you really don't believe in Jesus. BTW, he only got that name around 1630AD, about 400 years ago.

Just from our conversations I know you'll never understand what Jesus meant / he didn't mean to literally cut your hand off or pluck your eye out, and having a conversation on it is like as they say talking to the wall.
As I've said to you before: think whatever you want to think - Jesus already said that there will be people who do exactly as you.

Jesus said that in two different passages and he said that you have to follow his commandments. If you don't believe that commandment then why do you believe other things that he supposedly said?

Again and I'll say it differently: there are those who will never understand what Jesus meant/ means when he said / say certain things.
His Commandments was to love him and to love each other; broken down into two Commandments which covers the Ten Commandments.

It seems that you don't know what the real Ten Comandments are. If you have the time and the interest you can easily educate yourself on this issue by reading Exodus chapters 20-34. Notice that the commandments in Exodus chapter 20 are verbal and were never written on the stone tablets or called the Ten Commandments in the verses. You will get to Exodus 32:18 before you hear about the two stone tablets with the commandments =
Exodus 34:1(TLB) = "18 Then, as God finished speaking with Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of stone on which the Ten Commandments were written with the finger of God."
Moses then broke them and they had to do it over in Exodus 34. The real Ten Commandments are in verses 11-26. Pay attention to Exodus 34:28 (TLB) = "28 Moses was up on the mountain with the Lord for forty days and forty nights, and in all that time he neither ate nor drank. At that time God[a] wrote out the Covenant—the Ten Commandments—on the stone tablets."
Notice that none of the real Ten Commandments specifically apply to non-Jews.
BTW, no one really follows the commandments Jesus gave.

I knew the Ten Commandments before I was 8 years old, and I'm an old gal now.
The first of the said new Commandments that Jesus gave: to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, spirit = the first 4 of the Ten Commandments which is about loving God
The second of the said new Commandments that Jesus gave to love each other = the next 6 of the Ten Commandments.
And if you don't see that - so be it!
And if you feel the Ten Commandments was made for Jews only ::: then you put anything before God all you like / take God's name in vain all you like / forget about the True Sabbath all you like / have sex anytime with anybody you like / steal all you like / lie all you like / murder if you think you can get away with it all you like / dishonor your parents / covet (be jealous of) what anybody else has which is your neighbor / and fool around with your neighbors husband or wife or anything they have.
I noticed that all the governed world whether legally or morally, including atheists are based on the Ten Commandments which is as the two said new Commandments of Christ. And in the US and the countries before the 1960s - 70s it was illegal to commit adultery / it was illegal to open certain businesses such as liquor stores and clothing, furniture stores on a Sunday. It still is illegal to murder, to lie to the feds, officers, or in court, to steal
And it doesn't matter whether God gave the Ten Commandments to chosen people orally or written first.
You are correct the Bible is specific when it says all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. All we who call ourselves Christians can do is our best to follow the Lord / if we could on our own we wouldn't need redeeming.

@Charity = As I've written before, the vast majority of so-called believers are totally clueless as to what the real Ten Commandments are. It is the easiest thing to understand in the Bible, if you actually can read it and comprehend what you have read. But, people like the fake ones because they saw the movies. All of the stories in the Old and New Testaments illustrate one or more of the real Ten Commandments found in Exodus 34:11-26. Your refusal to accept that fact leaves you ignorant about the fairytale.
Matthew 15:24 (ERV) = Jesus answered, “God sent me only to the lost people of Israel.”
The biblical God character doesn't give a rat's ass about all others. And he said that in numerous verses.

I am quite aware that Jesus said God sent him only to the tribes of Israel. They are his chosen people.
BUT
What of the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4:3-42.
What of the Roman servant 8:5-13
What of Jesus words: the gospel must be spread to ALL NATIONS as a witness then the end will come Matthew 24:14
What of Jesus words: telling his disciples to go to ALL NATIONS and preach the gospel Matthew 28:1920
FULFILLING God's promise to Abraham in the Old Testament that his descendants would be a blessing to All Nations, Genesis 22:18
The Lord came to his own but he sent his own to other nations, meaning what he says applied to all peoples.
"As you say" but you haven't gotten it right.

You keep ignoring that fact that there were twelve (12) nations. Jesus was in the nation of Judea. The other eleven nations were scattered all across the Med, from Spain and across northern Africa to Turkey and beyond. Read the damn fairytale!
Matthew 19:28 (CEV) = "Jesus answered: Yes, all of you have become my followers. And so in the future world, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, I promise you will sit on twelve thrones to judge the twelve tribes of Israel."
Revelation 7:4-8 (CEV) = "4 Then I heard how many people had been marked on the forehead. There were 144,000, and they came from every tribe of Israel:
5 12,000 from Judah,
12,000 from Reuben,
12,000 from Gad,
6 12,000 from Asher,
12,000 from Naphtali,
12,000 from Manasseh,
7 12,000 from Simeon,
12,000 from Levi,
12,000 from Issachar,
8 12,000 from Zebulun,
12,000 from Joseph, and
12,000 from Benjamin."
How do you think you will ever get into the giant golden cube called New Jerusalem through one of the gates dedicated to just members of the twelve tribes of Israel? It is the ultimate gated racist community.
Jesus was a big hypocrite, which is why he interacted with the Samarian woman despite having previously told his apostles to avoid Samarians and Gentiles.

Romans 11: 11-31 / Ephesians 2: 11-16 / John 1:12 tells us that the gospel is given to the gentiles too, the gentiles are adopted and who are the gentiles / everybody else other than the Israelites.
Well I'm through with this conversation -funny how none Christians want to tell Christians what scripture means.

@Charity Jesus did not say one word that he came for all people. That was what Paul said because the Jews rejected his resurrection religion.

@Diotrephes 👋👋
I have to say this Jesus stop Paul on the road to Damascus. Paul became a disciple of Jesus and Jesus commissioned him to preach.
Paul preached to the Jews and the Jews accepted him all the churches that are mentioned in the Bible where Jewish in those countries and they accepted the teachings. Paul also preach to the gentiles.
Thomas preached to those of India______
