His most poignant memory was that when they entered East Berlin the smiles all stopped. My neighbour went to Russia while it was still communist and still dependant on Canada's wheat to visit family. He was shocked at how poor the farms were. The workers had no incentive to work hard or bring a better crop. If it was a bumper crop they received no reward. It the crop failed entirely there was no consequence. They put in their 8 hours and went home. My neighbour was a very successful farmer and through hard work he made his family wealthy. Not that he kept it. He sponsored people to come to Canada from war torn areas of the world. He gave generously to all kinds of charities helping the poor and hopeless around the world. His family in Russia did none of those things. They just did their job and went home. So you still haven't answered any of my questions? Because you can't answer them and be honest?

@Guitarman123 Speaking of religious phobias I am reminded of the Christophobial displayed by the USSR. I have a very good friend from Russia. He was a medical emissary for the Soviet Union and sent to Africa to convince everyone that communism was the way of humanity. While there he met a fellow who spoke German. My Russian friend also spoke German and they soon struck up a friendship. The other fellow was from Canada and had grown up on a Mennonite farm. He and his wife went Africa as Christian missionaries helping build houses for the natives. After a few months my Russian friend was asked to join a Bible study with the two Mennonites. He agreed. Christianity was banned in the Soviet Union and he had learned all the arguments against it from his classes in school and university. He had seen the great pendulum swinging in the doorway of the cathedral and laughed at how backward Christianity was. However the Mennonites chose not to argue or fight with him. They simply explained the Bible. After about 6 months of Bible study my medical Doctor friend from the USSR became a Christian. He laughs at it now but he said his first thought after becoming a Christian is that he could never go home again. He came to Canada and attends the same church as I do.

@Guitarman123 Which is a religion. It has a Genesis Story. Evolution. It believes that mankind was once in a primitive paradise. It recognises mankind fall and blames capitalism for it. It has its prophets, Engels, Marx and the many who preceded them an those who follow. It has a solution to mankind's fall and it has a future paradise to which it has bent its back to implement. Why do you promote it? Because it is your religion and you are extremely evangelical about your religion. The only problem is no one has ever reached Marxism's paradise but hundreds of millions have been killed trying to do so. Not that the paradise is all that great. You live in a Borg for your seventy years and then you die. Your thoughts your efforts your dreams your ideals all come to naughty as you simply cease to exist.

@Guitarman123 Religion is simply a belief system held with ardour and tenacity. It has nothing to do with the supernatural although it might. Merriam Webster 3rd definition of religion is, "an interest, cause, belief, or activity that is intensely or passionately held to". Marxism is a religion. Again your mental capacity is severely lacking on such things.
