Biblical submission is a fetish.

This channel is from a former far right person who documents her journey. I found this interesting as in a few videos she openly admits how she got to be far right and even believed in selective breeding. Not what this video is about but I did find that openess refreshing.

She basically just puts out what we all thought originally about Christian nationalism but it's nice to see someone just admitting it out loud rather than guessing through dog whistles. And she was raised like this so it's interesting to see how people develop those beliefs.

Practically every religion is based upon male dominant and female submissive.

God created Adam....then took one of his ribs and created Eve.

You get the drift.
Man #1.....Woman a distant #3, as Children #2.

@JSul3 I'm convinced it's all one big fetish to be honest which would explain a lot. The Bible is basically a sex book.

@SatanBurger I suggest you take another look.

@FreddieUK I know enough

@SatanBurger You clearly don't, but because I nearly always agree with your posts and appreciate them, I'm not going to argue this one.
@SatanBurger It's a book of fairytales, child rape, war and murder glorification, idolatry, and...just, yeah, it's a fetish book...for people that love that kind of power fantasy.

@SatanBurger I take the Sermon On the Mount as a guideline for humanity and ignore everything else.

@FreddieUK I wanted to mention that the woman in the video grew up in a very religious family so she probably has an idea more so than most.

It's fine to disagree by the way but just reading the title and disagreeing isn't enough. I do understand that not everyone has the time though to watch things. It is what it is

@JSul3 That's a good way to go about it.

@SatanBurger I've studied the Bible seriously as an academic, and a church leader. I have never believed that women should be subservient to men or that the Bible requires it of a modern Christian. I know some do. It's okay if they want to believe that, but I become very exercise when they force it on other people. The Bible is a collection of writings from a range of different writers which all point to Jesus. Obviously sexual matters come into it but the obsession, I believe with sex is modern obsession which reads sex into everything. Look at any text and pick out the bits you don't like and you can make of it what you will. Looking at the whole of the Bible and understanding its cultural as well as religious context I come to a very different conclusion. It's about genuine love, not sexual love, not superficial love of a romantic nature but sacrificial love. You won't find that by a cursory glance. There are horrific accounts of people doing abominable things and also of the consequences of that?

Learning how God reacts to that, how we can stop getting into that abominable position ourselves is what it's about. With anyone who comes away from reading the Bible seriously without understanding how Jesus Christ is part of the solution is really missing the mark.

That's why I disagree, and I hope that is a reasonably concise, but substantial, rebuttal of the opening title.

And the meek, shall inherit, the Earth

Words from the Bible spoken by Jesus who I believe was around somewhat before the people you attribute them to. Like a lot of things in the Bible, they are quoted and misquoted all over the place.

@FreddieUK In the Old Testament, the Almighty floods the 🌎, wiping out all of mankind, except Noah and some select family members. I guess that means we are all inbred.

He turns a woman into a pillar of salt

Suddenly he retires after Jesus comes, and mankind is left on his own.
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@JSul3 The New Testament makes it clear that Jesus is that God and came so we wouldn't be on our own...unless we chose to be. Again, selecting bits (which many Christians do as well) does not give a coherent view of the basic message of the Bible.
JSul3 · 70-79
@FreddieUK Why did God/Jesus sit back and watch all of the horrible wars, rapes, murders...that continue today, and not intervene?

Evidently we've been 'on our own' for quite a long time.

@JSul3 it's a fair question and one that many ask. I don't want to be trite, but short bursts of answers can end up looking like that. God gave us free will: if he didn't then we would just be puppets who could not have any choices and would never be responsible for our own actions. If that was the case, then you really would be able to blame God. The wicked things to which you refer are all carried out by people who have choices. They will be accountable either in this world or the next. It is my understanding that I need to do what I can where I am to prevent horror and more than that bring light to dark situations by actively engaging with other people in positive ways. That's what Jesus taught and for those of us who believe that we have personally encountered him, that's what he helps us do. Even if you don't have that faith, there are clear moral choices put before all of us for which we alone are responsible, not God.
